Terms of use
Last updated: October 17, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and HFTP, which operates Happy Me ("Happy Me", "we", "us"). By using Happy Me you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Who can use Happy Me
Happy Me is for adults aged 18 and over. By using it you confirm that you are at least 18.
What Happy Me is, and what it is not
Happy Me offers self-assessments for education and self-reflection.
- Assessments and results are not a medical or psychological diagnosis, and they are not a substitute for advice from a doctor, psychologist, or other qualified professional.
- No assessment on Happy Me can detect or rule out any illness or condition. In particular, the memory and attention assessment is a wellness exercise for following your own scores over time; it cannot detect dementia or any other condition, and its scores are not compared with other people.
- Percentiles and scores shown on the site, including any score on the IQ scale, are estimates. They are not official IQ scores.
- Do not make important decisions about your health, work, or relationships based only on a result from Happy Me.
If you are worried about your health, your memory, or your mental wellbeing, please speak to a doctor. If you are in crisis or think you may be in danger, contact your local emergency services.
Your account
You can use Happy Me without an account. If you create one:
- Use an email address that belongs to you.
- Keep access to your email and your account secure. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- An account is for one person. Answer for yourself, not on behalf of someone else.
You can delete your account at any time from the "Account and data" page.
Free and paid features
Taking an assessment, seeing your summary, and saving results to your account are free.
You can buy a full report for an assessment, or all full reports together. The prices are on the pricing page and are shown again before you pay.
- Launch offer. Until Thanksgiving, that is, until the end of November 26, 2026 (New York time), every full report is free for anyone with an account: you unlock a report by saving a result and choosing "Get my free report". A report unlocked during the offer works exactly like a bought one and stays yours after the offer ends. After that date, the normal prices apply. We may end the offer earlier; reports already unlocked stay yours.
- One payment. Each purchase is a single payment. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
- What you get. A purchase for one assessment gives your account the full report for every result you save for that assessment, now and later. A purchase of all full reports does the same for every assessment on Happy Me, including assessments we add later.
- You need an account and a saved result. A full report is built from a result saved in your account, and it stays attached to that account. It is for your personal use.
- Who you buy from. Full reports are sold through Stripe's Managed Payments service. For the payment, Stripe, under its Link name, is the seller (the "merchant of record"): it takes the payment, sends your receipt, and shows as `LINK.COM` on your statement. Its own payment terms are shown on the payment page. Happy Me provides the report itself and remains responsible for it.
- Price and tax. Prices are in US dollars and do not include sales tax or VAT. Where tax applies, it is worked out from your billing address and shown on the payment page before you pay. The payment page may show the price in your local currency. Your bank or card provider may add its own charges.
- Price changes. We may change prices. A change does not affect anything you have already bought.
- If you delete your account. Deleting your account also removes your access to the full reports you bought or unlocked. Download the PDF first if you want to keep a copy.
Refunds
All sales are final. A full report is digital content that opens as soon as you pay. By buying it, you ask us to provide it immediately. Payments are not refunded, whatever the reason, including if you change your mind or delete your account.
If something went wrong, for example the report did not unlock after you paid or it cannot be opened, write to us at hello@gethappyme.com and we will make sure you get the report you paid for. For questions about the payment itself, you can contact Link, as the seller, through the support link on your receipt.
Nothing in this section takes away a right to a refund or to cancel that you have under the consumer protection law where you live and that cannot legally be excluded.
Acceptable use
When using Happy Me, you agree not to:
- Break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
- Try to access other people's accounts or information.
- Interfere with the site, probe its security without our permission, or overload it with automated requests.
- Copy, resell, or republish the site's content or reports, other than keeping your own results for personal use.
Ownership
The Happy Me name, design, and the text we have written, including result descriptions and reports, belong to Happy Me. Some assessment questions come from the International Personality Item Pool, which is in the public domain, and they remain so. The sources are listed on the About the science page.
Happy Me is independent. Where the site mentions other assessments by name, such as the VIA classification of character strengths, the MoCA, or the MMSE, those names belong to their respective owners. Happy Me is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. Our questions and exercises are our own or come from public-domain sources. We do not use the official materials of those assessments.
Your answers and results are yours. You allow us to store and process them to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy.
Privacy
Our privacy policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. It forms part of these terms.
Changes to the service
We may change, pause, or stop any part of Happy Me. We will try to give notice of changes that significantly affect you. If we ever stop offering full reports you have paid for, we will give you reasonable notice so you can download them first. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
No guarantees
Happy Me is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that the site will always be available, free of errors, or suited to a particular purpose, or that any result is accurate or complete.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Happy Me is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, or for decisions you make based on a result. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot legally be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. If a change is significant, we will tell you on the site or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Happy Me after a change, you accept the updated terms.
