Memory and attention assessment
Three short exercises with words, numbers and pictures. Repeat it over time to follow your own trend.
Before you begin
Find a quiet moment of about ten minutes and do the three exercises in one sitting; they cannot be paused. Words, numbers and pictures are shown for a few seconds each, then you answer in your own time. Please do not write anything down or take screenshots, or the result will not mean much. There are no trick questions, and nobody remembers everything.
This is a wellness exercise for education and self-tracking, not a medical assessment or a diagnosis. It cannot detect dementia or any other condition. If you are worried about your memory, talk to a doctor.
How it works
- Three exercises, with words, numbers and pictures. Each one is explained before it starts.
- Things are shown for a few seconds each. After that you answer in your own time.
- It cannot be paused. If you stop part-way, nothing is kept and you start again with new material.
- The words, numbers and pictures are different every time you take it.
- Everything stays in this browser unless you choose to save your result to an account.
Where the exercises come from
Original exercises written for Happy Me. The three exercises are long-established ways of looking at memory and attention: recalling a list of words straight away and again after a delay, repeating sequences of digits forwards and backwards, and remembering which pictures were shown together. Exercises of these kinds are found in memory checks such as the MoCA and the MMSE. This assessment is not one of them and does not use their materials.
